Abstract:
The main objectives of the project are to strengthen the evidence base on key issues and effective interventions to support older women who provide home and community care, and to increase awareness and understanding of the dimensions of home and community-based care and the role of older women carers amongst CBO/NGOs, national AIDS authorities, and international development agencies.
Outcomes will include the mapping of key stakeholders, core standards and guidelines around home and community-based care, focussing particularly on support to older women carers; synthesis of programme approaches and experiences of home-based care provided by elderly women supported by HAI partners in 5 countries in Africa and Asia ; and, analysis of data sets and research on caregivers to PLWH and OVCs.
